For the second year already, the amateur actors of the Societá Dante Alighieri theatre section will meet the children’s audience in the cozy garden of the Werich Villa for the bilingual Czech-Italian performance “Italian Vacation”. The one-act play is loosely inspired by the themes of Jan Werich's fictionalized travelogue "Italian Holidays". The play returns to the tradition of Italian commedia dell'arte with its typical characters - two old men, a doctor, a harlequin, servants, a grim reaper, a girl in love, and a captain in a typical plot laced with modern and contemporary elements. The show uses traditional masks based on period originals, improvisation, music, and dance. Everything takes place on a stage of four square meters, with almost no stage set.
This year, the plot of Italian Holidays begins in Prague, where a father and his daughter decide to go on a month-long vacation to Italy. At the same time, because it's such a beautiful summer, the Grim Reaper, one of the classic characters of the commedia dell'arte, decides to take a break from her demanding job also in Italy (she's apparently burnt out at work). In Italy, however, everyone suddenly finds themselves in the strange world of commedia dell'arte masks. Why? Be surprised!

The opening American Concert of the 3rd Year of the Classical Concerts at Werich’s music festival will feature American soprano Bree Nichols, "finger-style" guitarist Martin Homola and pianist Jan Mára. The dramaturgy of this year's festival balances on the edge of the notion of "what is classical". In the American context, it will present not only classical songs or arias from operas but also spirituals or guitar pieces by Australians living in America, such as T. Emmanuel and J. Robinson.

The American-British Concert Concert features the works of major American and British composers of the 19th and 20th centuries. The program includes songs from classical song cycles, operatic arias, and musical songs, offering a varied picture of different perspectives on what "classical" means in the American and British musical context. Many of these works were written by composers who in current terminology would be described as part of the LGBT+ community. However, the programme does not present them separated from other composers, but as a part of the whole. The concert is an official part of the Prague Pride festival programme. An interesting connection to Werich's villa is the fact that the lyrics of the musical “Finian´s Rainbow” were translated by Jiří Voskovec and Jan Werich.
